ABOUT THE LAB

The Research in Inclusive Classrooms Experiences (RICE) Lab at California State University San Marcos investigates the nature of teaching and learning science in college classrooms.

We investigate the perspectives and experiences of undergraduate science students in STEM classrooms across a broad range of topics to recommend inclusive teaching practices that are informed by students' experiences and insights. By centering our research in the experiences of students from diverse groups, we gain a better understanding of how to continue pushing science to be more welcoming, inclusive, and supportive for all students to thrive.
