ABOUT THE LAB

The RICE Lab at California State University San Marcos studies teaching and learning in science, with a particular focus on undergraduate students and the educational experiences that shape their participation in STEM.

Our research examines course-based undergraduate research experiences, belonging and persistence in STEM, classroom practices and representation, and undergraduate facilitation in informal STEM education. Across these areas, we seek to understand how students experience science as learners, researchers, mentors, and emerging professionals.
